REACTIVITY OF IRON IS GREATER THAN COPPER.

SO,

WHEN IRON NAIL IS PUT IN THE SOLUTION OF COPPER SULPHATE, IT UNDERGOES DISPLACEMENT REACTION IN WHICH IRON DISPLACES COPPER FROM COPPER SULPHATE SOLUTION AND FORMS IRON SULPHATE SOLUTION, BUT COPPER CAN'T DISPLACE IRON FROM IRON SULPHATE SOLUTION.
