A chemical reaction is categorised as precipitation reaction when a precipitate is formed in the products. A precipitate is a powder like substance which is insoluble in water.
eg- BaCl2+Na2SO4 gives BaSO4 (white precipitate) + NaCl
CaO+CO2 gives CaCO3 (precipitate)
eg- BaCl2+Na2SO4 gives BaSO4 (white precipitate) + NaCl

examples
