Step-by-step explanation:

Let A and B be the two vectors.

Let the sun of the two vectors be the third vector R.

Thus, the magnitude of resultant R is given by;

R^{2}=A^{2}+B^{2}+2 A B \cos (A, B)

Where,

R = magnitude of the resultant R =|R|,

A = magnitude of the vector A = |A|

B = magnitude of vector B = |B|

(A, B) = Angle between vectors A and B

R is maximum when cos (A, B) = +1; i.e. the angle between vectors A and B is 0°.

R is minimum when cos (A, B) = -1; i.e. the angle between vectors A and B is 180°.
