When light enters a material with an angle of incidence of 53° it came out with an angle of refraction of 30°. What is the refractive index of the material?

Let the medium of material be - medium B

Let the medium of when light ray incidents -medium A

as by the given question we have to find the refractive index of medium B with respect to medium A

so,

nBA = sin53°/sin30°

as my calculation sin53° must be approximate by 0.79

and by trignomatric ratios sin30°=0.5

therefore,

sin53°/sin30° = 0.79/0.5 = 1.5 app.

So the refractive index of material be - 1.5 approx
