When light falls on a tree a shadow is formed.
It is because of the reflection process.
In the reflection process, the light rays falls on the tree as well as shadow/image is formed.
Shadows are completely formed by the light, as if light shines onto the object, then the object completely block the light.
Due to this, light go sideways of an object, and hence, a shadow is formed.
