when light of wavelength 5000 angstrom in vacuum Travels through same thickness in glass and water,The difference in number of waves is 400.Find thickness( refractive indices of Glass and water are 3/2 and 4/3 respectively)​

μg = 3/2

μw = 4/3

# Solution -

Here,

n = ng - nw

n = l/λg - l/λw

n = lμg/λ - lμw/λ

n = l/λ (μg - μw)

Suntitute values,

400 = l/(5000×10^-10) (3/2 - 4/3)

l = 400 × 5000×10^-10 / (1.5 - 1.33)

l = 0.0012 m

l = 1.2 mm

Therefore, thickness of the is 1.2 mm.
