Hello.
For dil HNO3
Mg + 2HNO3 ----> Mg(NO3)2 +H2
if conc nitric acid is used magnesium reacts further to produce oxides of nitrogen
Mg + 2HNO3 ---> MgNO3 + NO2 + H2O
