when magnetic material is taken close to amagnet it aquires induced magnetism.
Induced magnetism is temporary in nature. For example when an iron rod is brought near to permanent magnet it aquires properties like that of magnet. In induced magnetism the atoms get aligned under the influence of strong magnetic field. A north pole will induced a north pole on the far end.
