When mesuring the flow of liquid what are the two things to measure?

q=v*a is the formula of discharge but flow ol fluid is measure by fluid flow meter like venturimeter,orifice meter etc in which manometer is installed so we have to measure reading of manometer during flow and coefficient of discharge

Area/Velocity. The cross sectional area of the flow is calculated from a depth measurement and average velocity of the flow is measured directly (Doppler and propeller methods are common). Velocity times the cross sectional area yields a flow rate at which can be integrated into volumetric flow.
