When metals react with water, they form metal hydroxide and hydrogen. But when they react with steam they form metal oxide and hydrogen. So, my ques. is that both steam and water have same formula i.e.H2O,THEN HOW CAN I DECIDE WHETHER IT IS REACTING WITH STEAM OR WATER AND IF IT WILL FORM METAL OXIDE OR METAL HYDROXIDE???
