Here is yr answer...

Nitric acid (HNO3) is an acid as well as a strong oxidizing agent. Therefore it oxidize the hydrogen which is to be formed during the reaction instead it form water and itself reduced to NO, N2O, NO2., etc..

Bt if we take very dilute nitric acid, it will form hydrogen gas..

Hope this helps u...

Answer:

When metals react with nitric acid hydrogen gas is liberated. Nitric acid is a very strong oxidizing agent. So , it oxidizes the hydrogen gas formed during the reaction to form water and an oxide of nitrogen (NO,N2O,NO2 etc.). Magnesium and manganese react with very dilute nitric acid to liberate hydrogen gas.
