Here is yr answer...
Nitric acid (HNO3) is an acid as well as a strong oxidizing agent. Therefore it oxidize the hydrogen which is to be formed during the reaction instead it form water and itself reduced to NO, N2O, NO2., etc..
Bt if we take very dilute nitric acid, it will form hydrogen gas..
