When the microbes in the soil is destroyed, the chemical compounds the soil will not be broken down to useful nutrient elements, which are mostly needed by the plants. Then, the plants wont get the needed nutrients, and will not grow properly, and thus leads to decrease in yield which will affect the human society.

On the other hand, if the microbes in soil gets destroyed, the organic materials are not degraded and stays as such for ever and the waste products stay in the land without degraded for ever and becomes a huge menace by occupying the land.
