When monochromatic light travels from one medium to another its wavelength changes but frequency remains the same. Explain. [NCERT Example, Delhi 2011]

Frequency is the characteristic of the source. That is why it remains the same. But wavelength is charactristic of the medium. So wavelength and veloctiy both change.
