Akbar, the Mughal emperor, thought that the Rajputs were very important to expand, establish and stable the Mughal raj in the country.
The Rajputs kings were defeated, and they were forced to pay tribute to the king though their ancestral property was not seized.
Rana Pratap, the king of Mewar, was against this and fought with Akbar’s soldier in the battle of Haldighat.

Answer:
Rana Pratap of mewar continued his fight with the Mughals because Akbar's main aim was to capture the fort of Chittor which was the symbol of pride for Rajputs. Despite of its capture by Akbar, Rana Pratap refused to surrender to the Mughal emperor and he continued his fight for Independence till his death.
