Answer:

It is because there aren't any forces acting on the mud keeping turning with the tire that it flies off. At whatever point the mud comes off, it will travel tangent to the tire at first and the follow a parabola due to earths gravity.

Answer:

The mud flies along the tangential direction from the tire.

Explanation:

  • Direction in circular motion: When an object moves in a circular path, then at each point on the curve the direction of motion of an object is along the tangent on that point.
  • Tangent: A straight line on a curve, which touches the curve at a single point is called the tangent.
  • Motion of mud: When the mud is attached to the tire of cycle, then it is moving with the tire in a circular motion. At every point on the tire the direction of mud will be along the tangent on that point to the cycle tire. When the mud will be detached from the cycle tire, it will move along the tangent. So, the mud flies off the tire in tangential direction.
