When NaoH+Zn react Sodiumzencate is formed . How less reactive metal can react with more reactive metal compound????

Sodium Zincate is only formed on excess of NaOH. We heat the reaction to catalyse it.

Something like this:

Zn + 2 NaOH > Zn(OH)2 + 2Na

2 Zn(OH)2 + 2 NaOH > Na2ZnO2 + 3H2O

And it certainly is an endothermic reaction.
