GIVEN : a fraction \frac{x}{y}

solution :

if numerator of a fraction is increased by 2 the fraction reduces to 1/3.

i.e

\frac{x+2}{y}  = \frac{1}{3}

cross multiplying we get

3(x+2) = y

3x+6 = y

3x-y+6 = 0

thus , The required linear equation of two variable is 3x-y+6 = 0

solving 3x-y+6 = 0

put x=0 we get y = 6

coordinate (0,6)

put y = 0 we get x = -2

coordinate (-2,0)

now plotting these points on the graph

The graph is shown in the below attachment
