When p-n junction is forward biased, the current across the junction is mainly due to the motion of majority carriers.

The current is carried by electrons only and is known as forward current.

FORWARD BIAS :

A junction is said to be forward bias when the negative terminal of the external battery is connected to the n region and the positive terminal is connected to the p region of the diode.

The motion of majority carriers  that is holes in p region and electrons in n region.which constitutes current across the junction. This is known as frward current.

In forward bias the direction of electric field and the direction of barrier field is opposite in nature.
