PbO2  ------------------------>Pb(NO3)2
in PbO2 oxidation no. of Pb is +4 & in Pb(NO3)2 is +2
hence Pb atom gains 2 electron. and Pb atom get reduce.

Answer: The lead atom gets reduced.

Explanation:

Oxidation-reduction reaction or redox reaction is defined as the reaction in which oxidation and reduction reactions occur simultaneously.

Oxidation reaction is defined as the reaction in which a substance looses its electrons. The oxidation state of the substance increases.

Reduction reaction is defined as the reaction in which a substance gains electrons. The oxidation state of the substance gets reduced.

PbO_2\rightarrow Pb(NO_3)_2

On reactant side:

Oxidation state of lead = +4

On product side:

Oxidation state of lead = +2

The oxidation state of lead reduces from +4 to +2, it is getting reduced and it undergoes reduction reaction.
