When people talk about expertizes skills then say "we are in different ranges", what does it mean?

Is it just a difference of level?
I would know the more detailed meanings.

As far as I know,different ranges mens they are in different level.Each one has their different skills and all.They are experts in that.

It's also means that.They are living in different countries, villages,cities....like that...
