bcoz in parallel the term to find resistance is
1/R1+1/R2+.......
AND V=I/R SO IN THIS CASE THE INVERSE RATIO OF RESISTANCE IS RIGHT ANSWER

The current divides in inverse ratio of resistances. This is according to the current division formula ==> Ix/Iy = Ry/Rx
