When salt or sugar is added in water and dissolve where does salt/sugar disappear

I think that it does not disappear...Instead it mixes with the water...It dissolves in it

Answer: Salt disappears when it is dissolved in water because water has small spaces between it's particles and salt goes into that spaces.So this is reason why level of water does not rise when salt is added to it
