Answer:

(c) 1 mm²

Explanation:

Magnified area=25 mm²

                         = 5mm × 5mm

As the magnification of lens is 5x so the length and breadth both are magnified by 5 times

Actual area = 5mm × 5mm

                             5×5

Actual area = 1mm²

Hope it helps you!!!!!!!!!

Given: When seen through a 5x magnifying glass, a small leaf appears to

            have an area of 25mm2.

To find  The actual area of the leaf.

Solution: Magnified area=25 mm²

                                             = 5mm × 5mm

As the magnification of the lens is 5x so the length and breadth both                   are magnified by 5 times

Actual area = 5mm × 5mm / 5 x 5

Actual area = 1mm² .

Hence Actual area of the leaf is 1mm2 (C)
