Hi, please consider the answer given below;

When silver nitrate solution is added to potassium iodide solution, a negatively charged colloidal solution is formed.

What happens is that there is a preferential adsorption of negative charge in the surface.

What is important to note is that ions that are normally related to the colloidal particles are the ones which are preferentially discharged.

Hello there mate!

When silver nitrate solution is added to potassium iodide solution, the precipitated silver iodide adsorbs iodide ions from the dispersion medium and negatively charged colloidal solution results.

Hope you find this answer helpful!!

Good Luck!
