✪ Question ✪

When Sita sells 48 pieces of ladies soap, she gains the selling price of 12 soaps. Find the gain percentage.

✪ Given ✪

When Sita sells 48 pieces of ladies soap, she gains the selling price of 12 soaps.

✪ To find ✪

The gain percentage.

✪ Solution ✪

Let the SP of 1 soap be ₹ 1.

So, SP of 48 soaps = ₹ (1 × 48) = ₹ 48

Gain = SP of 12 soaps = ₹ (1 × 12) = ₹ 12

So, CP = SP - Gain

= ₹ (48 - 12)

= ₹ 36

So, Gain % = Gain/CP × 100

= (12/36 × 100) %

= (100/3) %

= 33 ⅓ %

✪ Hence ✪

Gain % = 33 ⅓ %

✪ Therefore ✪

The gain percentage is 33 ⅓ %.
