When soap is scrubbed on a stain of curry on a white cloth, it becomes reddish brown and turns yellow again when its washed with plenty of water. This is because soap is a base and curry contains turmeric, which is an indicator and turns reddish brown upon its reaction with base. It turns yellow again when washed with plenty of water because it removes the base and the stain becomes neutral again.

Answer:

Curry contains turmeric. Turmeric is an indicator which gives red colour with a base since soap is a base so we get red colour..
