When sodium phenoxide reacts with chlorobenzene why no reaction occur because chlorobenzene is involved in resonance due to which partial double bond character between c-cl bond occur

as it is more harder and stable it prevents sodium phenoxide to reacts with chlorobenzene

Answer:

sodium phenoxide does not react with chloro benzene

Explanation:

because btw c-cl of chloro benzene resonance takes place which means that it becomes stable and will not allow breaking of bond btw C and Cl.And will not allow Na to react with Cl.So no reaction occurs
