When sound travels from air to water what remains unchanged?

Sound requires a medium to travel.The frequency is defined as how frequently(how many times) the signal occurs in a given time.So if a wave/signal of 100Khz in air is made to travel via water then due to the change in medium, the speed of the wave changes corresponding to the wavelength.
