When speed is doubled, KE becomes 4 times. Why?​

KE = 1/2 (mv²)

If we take Speed to be v seconds, when it is doubled it will be 2v

Substituting 2v in the formula

KE = 1/2 [m(2v)²]

     = 1/2 (4mv²) = 2mv²

As you can clearly see 2mv² = 1/2mv² ₓ 4

Hence, when speed is doubled, KE becomes 4 times.
