When spring came, it was still winter in the garden. What does winter stand or indicate here? ​

Explanation:

Well, this is my version of answer. I don't know which poem this is but generally, Winter is the sign of coldness or simply lack of warmth. That is why when someone is a thick-skinned arrogant person we usually entitle them with the title of "Cold Hearted Person."

Spring implies the state of happiness.

Here spring means the time to be happy. But, the garden was still lacking the feeling of belongingness. A garden is a consequence of a very deep feeling of ardency or passion.

If you aren't happy on entering your creation. It implies the person is either lacking the feeling of either being loved or he cannot feel ardent about anything anymore.

Well, I don't know what it implies in a poem if it is a part of one. But, I'm pretty much sure that metaphorically I'm a cent percent correct.
