When sugar crystal dissolves in water it does not increase the level of water. Why?

Because water is a liquid in state and in liquid the molecules are loosley packed and when it is mixed sugar the sugar particles goes between the space in liquid so that it does not increase
you can do this experiment
First take a bowl and pour some water and mark the quantity of water with marker and add sugar and stir it well you can observe that it does not increase
