when sugar is added to water,it seems to disappear. However,when sand is added to water ,it is still visible. Why?​

When an ionic compound is added to water,the compound dissociates to give a vanthoff factor which is greater than one,which lowers the freezing point of water.

As salt is an ionic compound.It is added to lower freezing point.
