the sugar molecules go in between the molecular spaces of the solution. hence the volume of the sugar remains the same

because sugar is a homogeneous mixture... it can dissolve in water with some efforts so because of it... it will easily dissolve in water.... and the sugar particles stuck between the water paeticles
