When switch is open in a circuit does current flow in it?

Air is the biggest insulator. When the electrons from the circuit moves to the air, then the air molecules absorbs the energy of the electrons (as air is insulator) and due to loss of energy the electrons aren't able to move further. Hence electricity stops flowing.
