When tea leaves are added to hot water they float but later they sink because -
• When the tea leaves are added into the hot water,they are completely dehydrated.
These dehydrated leaves are lighter than the water that's why they float in the beginning.
• But,after sometime,the hot water makes the tea leaves rehydrated which makes these tea leaves heavier than the water (tea leaf mass + soaked water mass) and then these leaves sink into the water.
