This is because when we increase a temperature of the glass surface then its particles are moving away from each other and as they moving away from each other, the density will be also decreased.

Answer:

the index of refraction normally decreases as the temperature increases for a liquid. For many organic liquids the index of refraction decreases by approximately 0.0005 for every 1 °C increase in temperature.

Hope this helps you!
