The temperature gradient is positive and negative then heat transfer in negative direction and positive direction.

Explanation :

Temperature gradient :

Temperature gradient is inversely proportional to the thermal conductivity.

In mathematically form,

\delta T\propto -k

Where, \delta T = temperature gradient

Thermal conductivity = k

The negative sign shows the temperature decreases.

So, the heat transfer in positive direction.

The positive sign shows the temperature increase.

Then the heat transfer in negative direction.

Hence, The temperature gradient is positive and negative then heat transfer in negative direction and positive direction.
