when the starch test is performed the part covered with the black strip remain colourless because it cannot produce starch and the rest of the leaf turn blue black because that portion receive sunlight and produce starch.

If we clip black paper on leaf then that part will not get sunlight, air ,water in short it will not get the things which are necessary for a plant to grows .
As we know during starch test the leaf turns blue -black ..If we clip black paper then leaf will not get sunlight then it will not turn blue black .
