What about its volume ? Will there be any change in its density then?

Given:

An Aluminium foil in the form of a vessel was folded into a small piece.

To find:

  • If there was any change in mass , weight or volume of the foil?

  • If there was any change in the density?

Explaination:

  • When the Aluminium foil was in the form of a vessel, let its mass be m and volume be V ;

  • After folding Aluminium foil into a small piece its mass still remains the same , hence the weight also remains the same.

  • Regarding volume of foil , its final and initial volume are the same.

  • The main change observed is the volume of air that could be accommodated within the foil when it was in the form of the vessel. But this volume of air doesn't account for the volume of the foil , hence the final volume of the foil is equal to the initial volume.

 \sf{ \rho1 =  \dfrac{mass}{volume}  =  \dfrac{m}{v} }

Again , after folding ;

 \sf{ \rho2=  \dfrac{mass}{volume}  =  \dfrac{m}{v} }

Therefore ;

 \boxed{ \sf{ \red{ \large{ \rho1 =  \rho2}}}}
