Step-by-step explanation:

Given When the axes are rotated through an angle 60 degree .the new coordinate of the point is (7,2) find the original coordinate

  • Now given new co-ordinates are (7,2)
  • Now let x = 7 and y = 2
  • So let p = x cos theta – y sin theta
  •             = 7 cos 60 – 2 sin 60
  •             = 7 ½ - 2 √3 / 2
  •             = 7 - 2√3 / 2
  • So let q = x sin theta + y cos theta
  •             = 7 sin 60 + 2 cos 60
  •            = 7 √3 / 2 + 2 ½
  •           = 7 √3 + 2 / 2
  • So the co-ordinates are (7 - 2√3 / 2 , 7√3 + 2 / 2)
