When the batsman hits the fast ball what happens to the kinetic energy transferred to the bat?

It gets transferred to your body and to the ground. That’s why proper footwork is necessary in batting to transfer the body weight on to the ball. If you hit the ball when you’re not in a firm position, the ball doesn’t go anywhere. If you align your shoulders and toes towards the line of the ball and get into a solid position while you play, you hardly need to hit the ball. All you need to do is gently caress the ball and it flies.
