It shows that the solution conduct electricity and has some amount on any acid in it.

Solution has ions present in the causing electric current and it is produces the magnetic effect.
This is causing deflection of the magnetic needles of the various compasses.
Here the tested is well dipped into the solution and also needles to show the deflection which is act as the good conductor of electricity.
