CO2 is released when we heat lime stone
and when this gas is passed to limewater orCaO then it turns milk as there is formation of CaCo3

This experiment can be find experimentally. Take a one beaker of lime water or calcium hydroxide in a test tube. Now form carbon dioxide by heating the limestone and pass this certain amount of carbon dioxide through freshly prepared lime water.

By doing this we find that a milky precipitate formed. This is the precipitate of calcium carbonate. So, due to the precipitate of ‘calcium carbonate’ lime water turns “milky”.
