they don't disclose their problems bcoz they are self-esteemed, they don't want anyone's help, they don't want anyone to show mercy on them.

Two Gentlemen of Verona:
The two boys worked very hard day and night. When the author asked about their plans and the reason for their hard work, the boys didn’t reveal the real reason behind it. They voluntarily hid it from the author.
They wanted to handle their problems and were confident that they could do it. So they didn’t want to take sympathy from anyone and be depended on them for help. So, they were evasive in their reply when the author asked about their tiresome work.
