When the narrator says in nole mi tangere that the act of reading was a historic act, what did he mean?
Answers
Answer:
Noll Me Tangere is a novel penned by a genius writer, a Filipino propagandist and a Philippine national hero, Jose Protacio Rizal. He simultaneously labored with so much political anguish and personal grief, while writing the most sensational novel in the face of Philippine history.
The reason why the narrator have such an immense notion to Noli Me Tangere is because the novel describes the perceived inequities of the Spanish Catholic priests and the ruling government. The story line goes detailed with the society of the Philippines during Spanish colonial period and features aristocracy behind poverty and abuse of colonialists. In this novel, the society is urged to open its eyes to reality and rebel against the Spanish government for its oppression and abuse. It portrays the different aspects of gaining independence. The novel aims at enlightening the society, and at bringing the Filipinos closer to the truth. As a Filipino, I couldn't agree more to the narrator's experience of reading. Because Noli Me Tangere was presented as a representation of truth and not the truth, whereas disinformation is presented as reality. It only doesn't expose the ills of colonialism but also gives a wake-up call for Filipinos to change their bad attitude.
