When the numerator of a certain fraction is increased by 3 and the denominator increased by 1, its value changes to 1 1/4, but when numerator is increased by 4 and the denominator os decreased by 1 1/2, its value is equal to 4​

a/q , we have , x+3/y+1 = 11/4

4x+12 = 11y+11

4x-11y = -1 (i)

CASE 2

x+4/y-11/2 = 4

x+4 = 4y-22

x-4y = -26 (ii)

multiplying (ii) with 4 and subtracting (ii) from (i)

4x - 11y = -1

4x - 16y = -104

5y = 103

y = 103/5

then u can find x by substituting y
