Given :

Origin is shifted to coordinates = (4,-5)

To find :

The coordinates of the point (-2,4) with reference to new axes .

Solution :

In this case , formula used is :

x = X + h and y = Y + k

where , (x,y) is original coordinate whose new referenced coordinate we have to find ,

(X,Y) is new referenced coordinate ,

and , (h,k) is the point to which origin is shifted .

Now ,

-2 = X + 4   and  4 = Y - 5

=> X = -6 and Y = 9

The coordinates of the point (-2,4) with reference to new axes is ( -6 , 9 ).

Answer:

(-6,9)

Step-by-step explanation:

let (X,Y) be the new coordinates of (x,y)

given (x,y)= (-2,4) ,(h,k)= (4,-5)

x-h=(-2-4)=-6

(y-k)=(4+5)=9

hence the new coordinates is (-6,9)
