When the 'Permanent Settlement' was introduced, there was no detailed land survey. Why do you think was it needed for the 'Ryotwari Settlement'?

1-Because the farmers lost their right to land.
2-Permanent settlement ensured them a fixed and regular income.
3-The zamindars became the hereditary owner of the land..
So, we required "Ryotwari settlement"..
