Hey mate
Here is ur answer

When pH of mouth is lower than 5.5 tooth decay starts. Our tooth enamelis the hardest substance in our body but it is corroded when pH of mouth falls below 5.5, this causes thebacteria present in mouth to produce acid due to degradation of sugar and other food particles remained in the mouth after eating.

when something sweet sticks to our teeth , it attracts the bacteria which tries to digest it secreting acid in this process . due to some reactions after eating sugar acids are going to be make. these acids starts decaying enamel that's why the pH of mouth falls below 5.5
in order to prevent this we should brush our teeth twice a day as toothpaste is alkaline in nature which will neutralize the acid effect.
