Answer:

Rs 14.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present cost price be rs X.

If the price increase 25% the the new cost price of rice is X+(25÷100)X=1.25X

Now it is given that a man get 250gm less rice for rs18 if the price is increased 25%.

Now, when the price is X, quantity of rice the man get with rs18= (18÷X)

Now when the price is 1.25x, quantity of rice the man get=(18÷1.25X)

Therefore we can write,

18÷X=(18÷1.25X)+0.250kg

or,0.250=(\frac{18}{x} )-\frac{18}{1.25x} =(\frac{(18*1.25)-18}{1.25x} )=\frac{4.5}{1.25x} =\frac{3.6}{x}

0.25X=3.6

X=(3.6÷0.25)=14.4rs.
